Chameleons are cold-blooded reptiles, which means their temperature increases and decreases with the temperature of their surroundings. To ensure they don't get too hot or cold, they store up heat from the middle of the day to keep warm during the cool nights. Chameleons use their tongues to catch and trap insects and their eyes rest on moving cones in their sockets, giving them the ability to look in two directions at once.
