    Ear structure
Description:
Hearing is one of our five senses. The ear is the sensory organ of the body that detects sound. Sound vibrations in the air pass into the ear, through the ear drum, and into the middle ear. They then pass into the inner ear and the cochlea, which translates these vibrations into nerve pulses. These pulses are decoded by the brain, and allow us to recognise sounds.
