Description:
The reproductive system works by generating and transporting male and female sex cells (sperm and ova) with the purpose of combining them to produce offspring. The male reproductive system consists of two sperm-producing testes, which are connected to the penis, whilst the female reproductive system consists of two ovaries, which alternately release one ovum (egg) each month. When released, each egg is then transported to the uterus via the fallopian tubes. For fertilisation to occur, the penis must enter the vagina and secrete sperm, which must then travel into the uterus to combine with the egg.
