Description:
Decanting, or panning, is a process used to find gold. Earth is placed in a pan, and shuffled from side to side. This shuffling causes light substances to be spilt from the pan, whilst allowing heavy gold to sink to the bottom of the dish, where is can be collected. It is a process that relies on different substances having different densities.
