Description:
A cloud is a visible mass of droplets of water or frozen crystals suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth. Clouds are formed when water vapour in the air rises, cools and condenses into water droplets. This may happen when warm wet air rises naturally and cools, or when it is forced upwards by mountains or fronts of cold air. All three of these possibilities are shown in this diagram. The red arrows show the movement of warm air that is filled with water vapour.
