Description:
Plate boundaries are found where tectonic plates meet one another. There are three types: convergent boundaries, where the plates are moving into one another; divergent boundaries, where the plates are moving apart; and conservative boundaries, where the plates are grinding against each other side by side. The force of plates moving against one another sometimes causes earthquakes, and because the Earth's crust is disrupted at plate boundaries, they are also a common site for volcanoes.
