Description:
Elegant and well-proportioned architecture was created throughout the Greek world. There were three main architectural styles known as orders. These were the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian, distinguished mainly by the types of stone capitals at the top of the building's columns. Doric capitals were simple and sturdy. One of the best preserved temples is the Doric temple of Hera at Paestum in Italy.
